Here's a rundown of what Northwest Arkansas local governments plan to discuss Tuesday night:

Bentonville will vote on:

  • A contract for about $1.15 million with Freese and Nichols, Inc., to design a water transmission line from SW 28th Street to the I Street pump station.
  • Buying new shelves for the Bentonville Public Library, which is being expanded, for $330,000.

Rogers will vote on:

  • Settling a lawsuit for $95,000 against ARCO Excavation and Paving, Sand Creek Engineering and Landscape Architecture, and Blue Ribbon Ground Services. The city sued over the failure of a regional detention wall on East Cherry Street.
  • Annexing neighboring land from Cave Springs into the city.

Springdale will vote on:

  • Rezoning land at North 40th Street and West Emma Avenue from agricultural to medium-density multifamily residential, which would allow multifamily housing to be built there.
  • A resolution expressing the willingness of the city to apply for and use a federal grant for the design of Apple Blossom Avenue from Goad Springs to Old Wire roads. Preliminary engineering cost is $4 million. The federal government would cover $3.2 million, with Springdale and Lowell each contributing $400,000.

If you go: 6pm at Bentonville and Springdale city halls; 6:30pm at Rogers City Hall.
