If you're the gambling type, soon you'll have another option to get to Las Vegas.

What's happening: Frontier Airlines announced it will provide two weekly non-stop flights to Las Vegas from XNA, beginning August 13. The flights will be on Mondays and Fridays.

  • Introductory fares for trips between Aug. 13 and Oct. 6 will be $39.
  • Travel must be booked before June 29.

Why it matters: The travel and tourism industries are anxious to cash in on pent-up demand for business and leisure traveling following the pandemic, so fares to destinations like Vegas may be competitive near-term.

  • Frontier joins Allegiant Air in offering non-stop flights to Las Vegas. Allegiant flights are on Sundays and Thursdays.

Flashback: Allegiant announced recently that direct flights from XNA to St. Petersburg, Fla., will begin July 2, and direct flights to Fort Lauderdale will start Oct. 8.

  • Breeze Airways also recently announced it would offer nonstop service to Tampa, which started last week, and nonstop flights to New Orleans and San Antonio starting July 15.
