Jazz Fest's daily schedule, known as "the cubes," is now online, marking the final countdown to the cultural extravaganza's annual return.
Why it matters: Now you can strategize hopping from Preservation Hall Jazz Band on one end of the fest to Tank and the Bangas on the other before circling back for Lil Wayne with The Roots.
The fine print: All great loves really do rely on compromise.
By the numbers: This year's edition of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival will be made up of 650 performances across 14 stages, producer Quint Davis announced in a press conference Thursday.
- 560 of those performances will come from local acts, Davis said.
- The fest also includes 45 parades and more than 20 pow-wow dances, he said.
State of play: The biggest stages on the first Saturday's lineup represent "Jazz Fest's message to the world," Davis said.
- Programming at the Festival Stage includes Rebirth Brass Band, Big Freedia, Tank and the Bangas and Lil Wayne with The Roots. Meanwhile, the Shell Gentilly Stage will host Kermit Ruffins, Pres Hall, Irma Thomas and Harry Connick Jr.
- "Hello world," Davis said. "New Orleans is calling to you!"
