The NFL is kicking into full-promotion mode for Super Bowl LIX, which New Orleans hosts Feb. 9, 2025.
Why it matters: This will be the city's 11th time hosting a Super Bowl, a record the city shares with only Miami.
- "The NFL wants to see the best of New Orleans as well, and so we represent that," former Saints safety and Super Bowl winner Roman Harper said. "Let's not forget that. You know, that's why they keep coming here — because of us, we are the culture."
The latest: Tickets are now on sale for two of the NFL's biggest fan events during Super Bowl week. Prices start at $20.
- The Super Bowl Experience is a five-day event that will take over the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center with interactive games, all previous Super Bowl rings, helmets from every team and an NFL Shop with exclusive merchandise.
- Opening Night at the Caesars Superdome will have photo ops, interviews and special appearances with both competing teams.
Zoom in: "The Super Bowl Experience is the best thing the NFL has to offer," said Harper, who was in New Orleans on Tuesday to celebrate the start of ticket sales.
- "Culturally, it's about you. … It's actually a way to celebrate your city, your people, and there's no better way to do that than to show up and let everybody else know what it looks like, what it feels like, and how we're supposed to act and what we do when we come to New Orleans," Harper said.
The intrigue: Super Bowl week events are intended for all NFL fans, Harper said, regardless of whether you're rooting for a team in the big game.
- "Everybody's having fun," he said of the early events. "Everybody's got their hair down. ... Everybody's willing to have a good time."
If you go: An NFL spokesperson recommends using the organizations' OnePass app, which will have detailed event schedules.
- Super Bowl Opening Night attendees will also be able to use the app to listen to coach conversations happening during the event.
