Pan Am Stadium getting a $3.1M makeover

The first upgrades will include new synthetic turf, new goal posts and netting, a new PA system and a new scoreboard, according to City Park.

• The plan is to finish construction in time for high school football in early September.
• Then, in early 2025, the stadium lights will get replaced.

Follow the money: The New Orleans Saints donated the turf, and the rest will be funded through private donations and FEMA money.

• The stadium is used by high school, pro and community organizations for football, soccer, lacrosse and rugby matches and practices.

What's next: City Park is raising additional money with plans to repair the stadium's bleachers and renovate the locker rooms, bathrooms and press box.
