Larry Morrow expands and more New Orleans restaurant news

Larry Morrow's empire is growing. There's a new cocktail bar from the Bacchanal team, and a gluten-free focused new Gretna cafe top the latest restaurant news in New Orleans.

Here are some headlines we're watching:

🍸 The Bacchanal team is opening a new spot at 3100 St. Claude Ave. (Instagram)

  • NightBloom won't serve food, according to a Craigslist hiring ad, but it will have "an exciting and easy-to-drink cocktail menu."

🦪 Brocato's Kitchen is now open in a brick-and-mortar location on Broad Street. Nope, it's not affiliated with that Brocato family, but rather Troy Brocato, whose BBQ oysters debuted at Jazz Fest last year. (Facebook)

🥪 The Italian Barrel expanded with a sandwich shop around the corner from its French Quarter restaurant. (Instagram)

🥩 Larry Morrow's had a big month, with appearances on the "Today" show, the opening of Hide/Seek and, soon, the opening of Morrow Steak. (Instagram)

🐤 The Hen House will open in Gretna from Cara and Evan Benson, who also own Toast and Tartine. Cara has managed a gluten intolerance for years, so she's dedicated to ensuring the entire menu can be gluten-free on request. (Website)

🇲🇽 A new Mexican restaurant is bound for Oak Street from the team behind Metairie's La Tia Cantina. (NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune)

🍟 Food truck Mo Fries is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant next to Little Caesars on Terry Parkway, according to a photo shared within a closed Facebook group.

❌ French Quarter restaurant Bijou closed last month. (More closures from Eater New Orleans)

🆕 The Seawitch is opening on St. Charles Avenue in the former Blind Pelican location. It comes from Jude Marullo, who also operates properties like Bourbon Street's Fat Catz and Funky 544, and The Original French Market Restaurant & Bar. (What Now)
