LSU basketball star Angel Reese entered the WNBA with a bang Monday night in a hooded statement gown and a sparkly mouth grill.
The big picture: Reese was drafted by the Chicago Sky as the 7th overall pick.
- LSU coach Kim Mulkey was in New York cheering on the Bayou Barbie at the sold-out ceremony.
- Caitlin Clark was the No. 1 pick. She's heading to the Indiana Fever.
Here are some photos from the evening.

Zoom in: Reese, Clark and other draftees used the evening to make a dramatic fashion statement.
- Reese went with a Bronx and Banco gown from the 2024 collection, according to WWD.
- Vogue editor Naomi Elizee dressed Reese.
- "I got this two days ago," Reese told the Associated Press. "My original dress didn't fit."
Between the lines: The players often work directly with designers because their height prevents them from picking something off the rack, AP reports.
The details: Essence Martin designed a custom diamond grill for Reese, Marie Claire reports, and celebrity nail artist Angie Aguirre created a 3D French manicure.
What's next: Reese is one of the stars in the Prime Video docuseries called "The Money Game" to premiere later this year.
- The show follows LSU athletes during the 2023-2024 season. Axios is one of the producers.
