14 Parishes has a great Lenten fish fry special

Lenten fish fries in New Orleans aren't just the stuff of church ladies and fundraisers.

Local restaurants get in on the action, too. And the one at 14 Parishes is one of the best I've had.

Dig in: Jamaican restaurant 14 Parishes has a location Uptown on Oak Street and a newly opened place in Algiers Point.

For Lent, the restaurant is offering a fish plate with a beautifully fried, golden catfish filet plus cabbage, potato salad, a cornbread muffin and mac and cheese.
The whole plate is $15 or, as my husband said, an absolute steal.
