The Boy Scouts are doing a little something different this year with their Lenten fish fries at St. Pius X in Lake Vista: raising awareness about styrofoam pollution.

Why matters: It feels good when your food choices benefit more than your belly.

The big picture: Troop 100 is using compostable take-out boxes for its Friday dinners, says scout leader Theresa Truxillo.

  • The fifth through 11th graders are using the proceeds from the fish fries to go camping so it made sense to be more eco-friendly, she said.

On the menu: Fish fry plate ($15) with salad, mac & cheese and bread.

  • Nachos, pizza slices, desserts, drinks and adult beverages are for sale too.

The vibe: You can go through the drive-thru or walk in and eat in the cafeteria.

  • I walked in and had fun talking with school families while I waited in line.

If you go: St. Pius' last fish fry of the season is March 8. It's from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Cards and Venmo are accepted, but the cash line moves the fastest.
