Louisiana's richest person is Todd Graves, the founder of Raising Cane's, according to the newly released Bloomberg Billionaire Index.
Driving the news: Graves has a net worth of $7.6 billion, which is up $52.5 million so far this year, according to Bloomberg.
- The Baton Rouge resident is the 307th richest person in the world, according to the list.
- His growth is attributed to the 750+ Cane's locations globally and celebrity partnerships.
Yes, but: Saints owner Gayle Benson is notably absent from the list. WWL first reported on her absence.
- Forbes over the summer said she was the richest person in Louisiana, estimating her net worth at $4.7 billion.
How it works: The ranking is updated daily, Bloomberg says, and is a "dynamic measure of personal wealth based on changes in markets, the economy and Bloomberg reporting."
- The index lists the top 500 richest people in the world, according to Bloomberg.
