The Tennessee Titans spent the week rebuilding their roster, and on Thursday night the team continued its quest for a fresh beginning by unveiling a newly redesigned wardrobe.

Why it matters: The Titans are desperate to get their groove back after a grueling stretch of losses and false starts. The buzzy uniform rollout is the latest attempt to spark some excitement for the future.

Zoom in: After weeks of speculation and hints, the team debuted the uniforms during a special event at The Pinnacle.

The intrigue: As rumored, the team's longtime flame logo is out. It will be replaced by "The Shield," which features the familiar Tennessee tri-star and a mix of Titans blue, white and red.

A "6-String Stripe" reminiscent of a guitar will run down the helmet and the sleeves as a tribute to Music City.

Home jerseys will be in the Titans' signature shade of light blue with the team name across the chest.

On the road, players will wear a white jersey with "Tennessee" stitched across the chest.

The vibe: Several elements of the new design, including the red trim around players' numbers and the color scheme of the logo, are reminiscent of the Oilers throwback uniforms that paid tribute to the franchise's origins in Houston.

What they're saying: "We wanted to honor the history that defines this franchise while creating something that reflects who we are today and where we're going," Titans president and CEO Burke Nihill said in a statement.

"The result is a uniform that represents our team, our city, and our state with authenticity and pride."

If you buy: New jerseys and merch are available at the team's online store and in-person at the Nissan Stadium shop.

The big picture: The rebranding comes during the first week of a very busy free agency for Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi. He is spending big to fill holes in the lineup, adding NFL veterans who could mentor the generally young squad.

Many of the new additions have experience playing under new coach Robert Saleh or the incoming offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. 

The bottom line: The new uniforms might spur some chatter, but most fans will keep their eyes on the football.

The U.S. government settled its antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation, but Tennessee is one of the states pushing forward with the legal fight against the ticketing giant.

Why it matters: The federal settlement, which requires a judge's sign-off, means Live Nation won't need to divest Ticketmaster or any other assets, despite the Department of Justice's previous argument that that the corporate tie-up created an illegal monopoly that hurt consumers and performers.

Zoom in: Tennessee was one of dozens of states that had joined the DOJ's case. State Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti said Tennessee would continue to litigate the case.

"Our resolve has not wavered," Skrmetti said in a statement. "We are proud to stand with a powerful core of conservative AGs and bipartisan partners from across the country committed to continuing the fight against Ticketmaster/Live Nation."

What he's saying: "The entertainment industry is woven into the very fabric of our State's identity," Skrmetti said. "When a corporate monopoly acts as a gatekeeper to live entertainment, it doesn't just crank up prices for fans; it threatens the heartbeat of our culture."

"For decades too long, we've seen fans, artists, and independent venues squeezed by a system that prioritizes monopoly power over affordability and quality."

Flashback: DOJ filed its lawsuit in 2024, and the trial began earlier this month.

Only some of the states who joined the suit have signed onto the DOJ settlement.

Between the lines: One concession obtained by DOJ is that at least some Live Nation venues that had exclusive ticketing deals with Ticketmaster will become open to other primary ticketing agencies, but Live Nation isn't divesting any actual venues.

The big picture: The settlement represents a green light for U.S. dealmakers, coming just weeks after the Trump administration forced out DOJ antitrust chief Gail Slater.

Nashville gas prices are rocketing up following the U.S. and Israel strikes on Iran and oil market fears of extended geopolitical upheaval.

Why it matters: The increases have an immediate effect on motorists' pocketbooks and their mood about the economy.

By the numbers: Average gas prices in Nashville hit $3.01 on Sunday.

In December, prices hit a low point of $2.58.

Yes, but: Nashville's rate remains below the national average of $3.45.

The big picture: Gas prices spiked dramatically last week following upheaval in the Middle East.

March 3 was the biggest single-day spike since 2022, according to GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan.

Between the lines: Tom Kloza, a longtime oil analyst now working for Gulf Oil, tells Axios he expects the national average price to reach as high as $3.50 in the coming weeks.

That stems from a sudden increase in petroleum prices as traders fear disruption in crude supplies from the Middle East.

The latest: Oil prices climbed above $100 per barrel yesterday for the first time since 2022.

Dolly Parton is back, and she's hard at work.

The latest: The Smoky Mountain songbird made her first public appearance in months this week to celebrate the opening of a new season at Dollywood in East Tennessee.

"I've been missing you," she told an adoring crowd of fans.

Flashback: Parton slowed down toward the end of 2025 to deal with health problems, but on Friday she assured fans "all's good."

What she's saying: Parton, who turned 80 in January, explained she needed to "build myself back up spiritually, emotionally and physically" following the death of her husband Carl Dean a year ago.

"I just kind of got wore down and wore out grieving over Carl," she said. "I've had a few little health issues and we're taking good care of them."

The big picture: Parton assured fans things are now "back to normal." And for Parton, normal means busy.

She's rewriting and retooling songs for her upcoming Broadway musical, which is expected to open this fall in New York.

A new Dolly-themed hotel and museum are expected to open this year in downtown Nashville.

The bottom line: "Be ready for me," she said. "I ain't near done."

Buyers are gaining the edge in Nashville's housing market as a surge of inventory gives them leverage to negotiate price cuts and other concessions.

Why it matters: Lower interest rates and and more choices are combining to create a much more welcoming environment for buyers who have spent years on the sidelines.

The latest: Data released this week by Greater Nashville Realtors showed 12,315 available properties for sale across the region, a 12% increase compared to this time last year.

Listings are up across all sectors, including condos and single-family homes.

What they're saying: "Sellers are getting more creative with their strategies, often offering incentives to help buyers move forward with a home purchase," Greater Nashville Realtors president Jack Gaughan said in a statement.

The big picture: Nashville's market has been cooling after a post-COVID hot streak. Last year, residential properties in Middle Tennessee sold for an average of 6.4% below asking, per a Redfin analysis.

That's a far cry from the rapid-fire bidding wars that had become common in 2021 and 2022.

Yes, but: Other markets saw much bigger price cuts.

The intrigue: As the market continues to evolve, some costs are ticking down (slightly) in the Nashville area.

By the numbers: The median price for a condo in the area was $338,500 last month, compared with a $350,000 price tag in February 2025, Greater Nashville Realtors reported.

The median price for single-family homes edged up to $499,900 last month, a $10,000 increase year over year.

State of play: Sales have stabilized after an ice storm induced slowdown at the end of January. Sales closed on 2,133 homes last month, per Greater Nashville Realtors. That is about even with last year's figures.

Reality check: Despite the recent tilt toward buyers, prices are still exponentially higher than they were even a few years ago, and many would-be buyers are still priced out of the market.
