Free music, fireworks and football. There's something for everyone looking to unwind this Labor Day Weekend.
Why it matters: The holiday weekend marks the unofficial end of summer, and an opportunity to commemorate the hard-fought victories of the labor movement.
🎶 The Free Fest at Musicians Corner: The free, family- and pet-friendly festival takes over Centennial Park with a three-day, super-sized lineup that includes Arlo Parks and Rayland Baxter.
✨ Embrace The Force: The Nashville Sounds host the Louisville Bats at 6:35pm Friday for Star Wars Night, followed by a fireworks show.
- The team encourages fans to come in costume, or you can get a limited edition Nashville Sounds x Star Wars T-shirt featuring Baby Yoda.
🪧 The people behind the holiday: The Labor Day parade organized by Nashville's labor unions starts 10am Saturday from Rosa Parks Boulevard and Broadway.
- This year's event is named in honor of local labor organizer Vonda McDaniel, who died this year.
🎻 The symphony at sundown: The Nashville Symphony performs a free concert at 7:30pm Saturday at Walk of Fame Park.
🏈 College ball: Ole Miss faces Louisville in their season opener at Nissan Stadium at 6:30pm Sunday. It is the first Music City Kickoff game.
- Parking lots open at 2:30pm and stadium gates open at 4:30pm.
- If you want to watch from home, ABC will broadcast the game nationally.
🚂 Trains pull away from Cheekwood: Sunday is the final day of Cheekwood's train-lovers exhibit that features 10 model trains, more than 850 feet of track and miniature versions of landmarks including the Ryman, Graceland and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
🍂 Sip on some fall flavors: The weather might not be autumnal, but you can get a jump on the next season at Crieve Hall Bagels, which launched its fall menu at both locations.

- The bakery case boasts caramel-apple pop tarts, pumpkin muffins and maple-sweet potato scones.
⚠️ If you're outside: Regardless of how you choose to celebrate, you should take steps to protect yourself from dangerous heat, which is in the forecast all weekend.
- Drink lots of water, avoid direct sunlight and take plenty of breaks in the shade.
