Context: The 70mm IMAX screens offer the highest-quality image and sound from the original film.
Nolan previously shot portions of his films in 70mm, like "Oppenheimer," but "The Odyssey" was the first narrative film to be shot entirely using IMAX cameras, according to IMAX.
How it works: A standard film strip is 35mm. A 70mm print is physically larger, allowing for higher image resolution.
IMAX screens also display a taller image, letting audiences see larger, more encompassing visuals.
Normally, filmmakers will only film parts of their movie on IMAX since the cameras for it are bulky, noisy and expensive.
If you go: You can still get tickets to see the movie at Regal Opry Mills. You may have to settle for a seat near the front or wait a while to see it. Nate is going next week.
Adam couldn't wait and is seeing "The Odyssey" tonight, but not on IMAX.
