Don't forget Mother's Day is Sunday. It's the perfect excuse to show our appreciation to the mothers, mother figures and role models who helped shape us.
Brunch is always a solid holiday outing, but by now many reservations will be hard to come by. So we've assembled a list of other weekend options.
🍓 Celebrate with strawberries: The Nashville Farmers Market is hosting its annual Strawberry Fest from 10am-2pm Saturday. Obviously, there will be special deals on produce, along with live music, cooking demonstrations, free pony rides and a petting zoo.
🐎 People watch at Steeplechase: The Iriquois Steeplechase is taking over Percy Warner Park on Saturday. The day is centered around horse racing, but the main event for many is the tailgating, which is more like an outdoor fashion show.
Expect lots of pastels, searsuckers and really ornate hats.
🦋 Spread your wings together: TheDiscovery Center in Murfreesboro is hosting special butterfly releases Saturday. The photo-friendly event also includes crafting and a cascade of flowers.
🎷 Say it with jazz: The annual concert series Jazz on the Cumberland launches Sunday with a special Mother's Day set. The free event takes place in Wasioto Park next to Nissan Stadium.
Bring lawn chairs or blankets, spread out and enjoy the music along with stunning skyline views.
