The odds of Nashville getting a significant amount of snow this weekend are getting higher as more data comes in.
State of play: The National Weather Service now estimates that Nashville has a 55% likelihood of seeing 6 or more inches of accumulation from Friday to Sunday.
There's an even bigger chance of getting at least 3 inches of snow, according to forecasts, which would still be enough to affect driving conditions throughout the midstate.
What we're watching: There is still uncertainty surrounding the wave of winter weather that is about to wallop us. It is possible Nashville could get freezing rain in addition to snow.
The bottom line: "Be prepared for significant travel impacts," the Weather Service warns.
