Nashville changes trash and recycling schedule

Trash and recycling pickup are moving to a new schedule in Nashville beginning the week of Feb. 2.

Why it matters: You don't want to drag your bins to the curb on the wrong day.

Driving the news: The Nashville Department of Waste Services announced earlier this month it is shifting to a four-day pickup schedule.

• That means many residents will have their trash and recycling picked up on a different day.
• The department touted the change as "a major operational upgrade designed to improve services."

How it works: You can look up your new pickup day on the city's website.

• Recycling will continue on an every-other week basis.
