Nashville's Nate Bargatze to host Primetime Emmys

Comedian Nate Bargatze, arguably Nashville's biggest hype man, will emcee the Emmys this weekend.

The intrigue: We'd say the odds are good that he'll mention Music City at some point during the ceremony.

Flashback: Bargatze has talked up his hometown in several high-profile settings. He sells hoodies emblazoned with his Old Hickory-area ZIP code 37138, and he wore one while hosting "Saturday Night Live." He recorded public safety announcements for the Nashville airport.

He's even floated the idea of building a Nateland amusement park here.

Fun fact: Two of the most searched Emmy nominated shows in Tennessee are the comedy "Only Murders in the Building" and drama "The Last of Us," according to data from Roku users.

How to watch: The award show begins at 7pm Central Sunday. It will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
