Nashville is in the middle of another punishing heat wave. Much of the midstate remains under a heat advisory today, with heat index values expected to climb as high as 108.
Zoom in: The Nashville Office of Emergency Management has deployed Emergency Support Unit volunteers to conduct heat patrols throughout the week to distribute water around the city.
The Office of Homeless Services is teaming with local nonprofits to provide cooling shelters and other resources including water, sunscreen and bus passes.
⚠️ Remember: It's important to drink plenty of water during heat waves, even if you do not feel thirsty. It's also best to avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
