Nashville's downtown library branch is temporarily closed following an explosive fire in the connected parking garage.
State of play: Fire officials said the damage from the blaze, which broke out early yesterday, was extensive: A ramp in the garage collapsed. Columns and support beams sustained "significant structural compromise," per the AP.
The garage, which is also connected to the Renaissance Hotel via skybridge, is used frequently by downtown revelers, but no injuries were reported.
What's next: Library officials say the downtown branch will remain closed through June 15.
The parking garage is closed until further notice.
