Enrollment at Tennessee's network of public colleges and universities is continuing to climb back from a pandemic-era slump, according to a new state report.
Why it matters: State leaders have tied higher education to their efforts to build a workforce that will be qualified to fill an influx of technical and corporate jobs.
By the numbers: Full-time enrollment hit 171,000 statewide in fall 2024, up from a pandemic low point of about 162,000 in 2021.
Before the pandemic, statewide enrollment reached a high water mark of 174,592 full-time students in 2018.
