Twelve Tennessee law enforcement agencies have signed or pending agreements to assist in some of the duties of ICE.
Why it matters: The agreements are one of several factors that shed light on where the Trump administration is dispatching resources to support its mass deportation plan.
The big picture: Tennessee Republicans advanced legislation this year that created grants to encourage local agencies to work with immigration officials.
Zoom in: The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security is among the participating agencies, as was made clear during an immigration crackdown in May, when state troopers partnered with ICE agents for an operation that resulted in nearly 200 arrests.
The Tennessee Department of Correction has a pending agreement, according to federal data.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office also inked a deal.
Of note: No local Nashville agencies have agreed to collaborate.
