Tennessee is set to execute death row inmate Oscar Franklin Smith, 75, this morning in Nashville. It will be the state's first execution in years.

💵 A federal district judge ordered the Trump administration to reinstate grants to Nashville that had been canceled as the White House moved to slash spending.
"The president's administration exceeded its constitutional authority when it rescinded these grants," Nashville legal director Wally Dietz said. "Only the courts can protect the rule of law." (Tennessean)
