Spring is in full bloom in Nashville, and a warm and sunny weekend stretches out ahead of us.
- Several events are on tap as the city celebrates Easter, Earth Day and the start of the sunny season.
🐰 Eggstravaganzoo: The annual celebration Saturday at the Nashville Zoo will include staggered Easter egg hunts for different age groups, face painting and, of course, quality time with a menagerie of animals.
- Don't forget to bring a basket.
🎨 Great Spring Art Hop: Cheekwood's take on the classic Easter event will feature 48 egg hunts spread across Friday and Saturday. About 36,000 eggs filled with treats will be scattered around the botanical garden.
- The festivities will also include crafts, food trucks and live music.
🐀 Hunt for "Easter Rats": Yes, you read that correctly. The Hermitage is hosting scavenger hunts this weekend in Andrew Jackson's historic home. It's based on a family story about Jackson's granddaughter Rachel.
- "After a long day of dyeing eggs for a fun Easter egg hunt at her school, rats threatened to put a sour note on the festivities when they ate the eggs," The Hermitage reported.
- "The young (and young at heart) are invited to help us save Easter by finding the rats, who are hiding throughout the mansion."
🌎 Earth Day Festival: Head to Centennial Park Saturday to celebrate nature's bounty.
- The Nashville Tree Foundation will give out 1,250 free trees while supplies are available. (It might be worth showing up at 11am, when the event begins.)
- There will also be an electric vehicle car show, talks about home composting and gardening, and a free yoga class.
🍇 Music in the Vines: Sit and sip on a dry cabernet while enjoying jazz and bluegrass music and the breathtaking view of the sprawling 95-acre property at Arrington Vineyards.
🤘 Rock on with Jack White: The Nashville-based rocker will take the stage Friday and Saturday at The Pinnacle.
