The 114th General Assembly includes a higher share of women lawmakers.
By the numbers: Twenty-three women serve in the Tennessee legislature this year, an increase of three over 2024, according to the Center for American Women and Politics.
Zoom in: One of the women boosting that total is freshman state Rep. Shaundelle Brooks (D-Hermitage) who won the District 60 race in November.
