Vanderbilt's Khamil Pierre breaks women's basketball record

Vanderbilt women's basketball had a game for the record books over the weekend.

What happened: Sophomore Khamil Pierre scored 42 points during the team's Saturday matchup against Evansville, breaking the program record for points scored in a single game.

The team trounced Evansville 106-40.

What they're saying: "When you have a player who can do the things she can do and plays the way she did today, it's fun to watch and witness," coach Shea Ralph said. "She makes things that are really hard to do look very easy."

Pierre said she was "extremely grateful," and thanked her teammates for their help.
