New Rosanne Cash exhibit opens at Country Music Hall of Fame

Rosanne Cash is the subject of the newest exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which opened this week.

Zoom in: The exhibit, called "Time Is a Mirror," includes songwriting manuscripts, instruments and stage wear from across Cash's sprawling career.

The big picture: Cash comes from country music royalty, but she cut her own path through the genre with incisive songwriting that confronted the pain and complexity of life.

Her influence can be heard in multiple generations of country artists, particularly the women of the 1990s, who sought to channel her emotional nuance.
