Scoop: 615 Indie Live announces first batch of performers for new festival

Driving the news: 615 Indie Live takes place next Feb. 1 and proceeds from the festival will benefit the Music Venue Alliance Nashville.

• Soul singer Alanna Royale, hip-hop collective Six One Tribe, R&B veterans the Wooten Brothers and indie rockers the Pink Spiders are among the festival's headliners. Organizers unveiled an initial list this morning.

Zoom in: The festival will also feature Americana, singer-songwriter, jazz and country artists.

What they're saying: "This event truly showcases every corner of Nashville's music scene," Music Venue Alliance Nashville president Chris Cobb said in a press release. "From rising indie acts to world-renowned musicians, participating venues collaborated to program an incredible range of local talent that reflects our city's diversity and depth."

What's next: Cobb says to stay tuned because "some big names" will be included in the next announcement that fans "won't want to miss."
