Nashville events: Marathon, NFL draft party, bookstore bash

Nashville isn't waiting for the weekend to get the party started. Here are some events for your calendar.

🏈 NFL draft: The Titans are hosting a watch party Thursday at Nissan Stadium. Tickets are free.

📚 Reading is fundamental: Independent Bookstore Day is Saturday, and special events are planned at Parnassus, The Bookshop and Novelette.

🏃 St. Jude Rock 'N' Roll Nashville Marathon: Runners will hit the streets, and onlookers will cheer them on between sips of mimosas. The main event kicks off downtown Saturday morning.

Beware of road closures.

🎉 Franklin's Main Street Festival: The 40th annual event will bring arts vendors, food and entertainment to downtown Franklin on Saturday and Sunday.
