The Derrick Henry era in Nashville appears to be over after the Titans agreed to terms with free agent Tony Pollard on Monday.

State of play: The Titans agreed to sign Pollard, who played for the Dallas Cowboys, to a three-year, $24 million contract, according to ESPN.

  • Committing that kind of money to another running back signals that Henry will get his payday elsewhere.

Why it matters: Henry is an all-time great Titan. His bruising running style set the tone for the Titans offense over the last decade.

  • He racked up 9,502 rushing yards and 90 rushing touchdowns during his eight years with the Titans.
  • Henry is a two-time All Pro selection and four-time Pro Bowler.

What we're watching: Pollard will pair with second-year running back Tyjae Spears in the Titans backfield.

  • Pollard eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing for the Cowboys each of the last two seasons.

Meanwhile, the Titans also moved to solidify their offensive line. They reached an agreement with center Lloyd Cushenberry from the Broncos, according to multiple reports. To bolster the secondary, the Titans struck a deal with defensive back Chidobe Awuzie.

  • Late Monday night, Chargers linebacker Kenneth Murray announced on Instagram he is signing with the Titans.
  • Titans free agents defensive lineman Denico Autry and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair are headed to the rival Houston Texans.
  • Players can negotiate agreements with teams during this window, but they can't sign their contracts until Wednesday.
