The evolution of iconic Nashville restaurant Sperry's will continue with the opening of the Cafe Sperry's coffee shop and a second Sperry's Mercantile location in Bellevue in early April.

Zoom in: The cafe will feature craft coffees and teas, baked goods and to-go sandwiches. The market and coffee shop will be located in the old Shoney's building off Highway 70.

  • Sperry's Mercantile will mirror the popular original Belle Meade location, with a butcher shop and curated grocery items.

What's next: The family-owned Sperry's is also passing the baton to the next generation. Owner Al Thomas' daughter Cate Buchanon oversees the mercantile and coffee shop, and the plan is for her to eventually run the Sperry's restaurants as well.
