Geodis Park replaced field after Shania Twain concert

What happened: Geodis Park, which opened in May 2022, has recently expanded its offerings beyond soccer games. Twain headlined the venue's first concert in June.

• "It's so much more important, I think, than most sports that the integrity and the quality of the field is almost perfection in soccer," Ayre told the sports authority.
• "We tried to tell the promoter and other people about the integrity of the pitch and how it should be well managed, and we ended up with a $350,000 replacement of the field."
• The work was done "in collaboration with the event promoter," Ayre said in a statement.

The Tennessean initially reported the replacement.

State of play: Ayre said the team has learned from that experience and taken a more active role in field maintenance for other shows.

• Subsequent concerts, such as Pink and Guns N' Roses, caused significantly less damage, he said.
• "While we did face some initial challenges, they've informed and improved our strategies," Ayre said in a statement. "Our recent concerts and events are a clear testament to how we were able to learn and evolve."
