Nashville's latest luxury hotel opened Wednesday in the Gulch.
- The 14-story W Nashville includes a whopping 286 rooms and 60 suites.
Why it matters: Locals probably won't be booking a room anytime soon, but the sumptuous rooftop bar, high-end restaurant and a forthcoming steakhouse seem like prime date-night material.
The (food) details: James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Carmellini is behind The Dutch, a celebration of comfort food reminiscent of his restaurant of the same name in New York. His steakhouse Carne Mare will open later this year.
Take it to the roof: The rooftop bar Proof offers an outdoor terrace, views of the Nashville skyline and, according to a press release, a "hidden sunset catwalk" that sounds tailor-made for the city's selfie scene.
1 cup to go: The W also boasts a new outpost of local coffee chain Barista Parlor.
