Meet the Houston chef on Season 23 of "Top Chef"

Acclaimed Houston chef and restaurateur Jaspratap "Jassi" Bindra will be on the newest season of "Top Chef," premiering March 9.

How it works: 15 chefs compete for a grand prize of $250,000, plus other perks like the opportunity to host a dinner at the historic James Beard House and present at the awards ceremony in Chicago.

Along the way, chefs can also win immunity, competitive advantages and cash prizes, with more than $150,000 total up for grabs.

Zoom in: "Cheftestant" Bindra, known for modern Indian cooking that plays with global classics, is the executive chef and managing partner of fine-dining restaurant Amrina.

With his hospitality group Kahani Social, he has opened Kitchen Rumors, Pok Pok Po and bōl. He has also competed on "Chopped" — and won.

How to watch: Fans can stream the premiere early, beginning March 3 on Peacock, Bravo's YouTube channel, and VOD. Episodes will be available on Peacock the day after airing.
