Kum & Go is closing its fuel-less convenience store downtown — the last of its "urban" walk-up store concepts.

State of play: The store at 319 7th Street will close March 24, Kum & Go spokesperson Taylor Boland tells Axios.

Flashback: Last year, Krause Group finalized the sale of Kum & Go to Utah-based Maverik.

What they're saying: The downtown walk-up store no longer fits the company's long-term plans for Des Moines, Boland says.

What's next: Kum & Go will keep the downtown space and repurpose it for internal use such as training, Boland says.
