If you've got Broncos tickets this season, come hungry.
The big picture: Empower Field at Mile High is adding 11 food vendors — nine of them local — and more than 120 new menu items, building what Broncos officials say is one of the NFL's most diverse food programs.
Dig in: New offerings include pork belly bao from MAKfam, quesabirria tacos from Mister Oso, Korean cheese dogs from Mukja, deep-fried risotto from Coperta and carne asada burritos from Carrera's Tacos.
For fans with a "go big or go home" mindset, there's the Beast in a Blanket — a 2-foot-long hot dog doused in cheese, brisket, avocado cream, crispy and pickled onions, jalapeño and secret sauce wrapped in puff pastry.
- It pretty much looks as wild as it sounds.
Zoom out: The stadium's $5 "Mile High Favs" are returning, including hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, popcorn, candy, soft drinks and water.
My thought bubble: If you get one thing, make it MAKfam's màlá mozzarella sticks, which I've raved about before.
- They come super crispy and coated in màlá, the spicy, tongue-numbing combination of Sichuan peppercorn and chile.
- Dip them in house-made Thai basil ranch for the perfect bite.
The bottom line: The concessions might be worth showing up early for.
