Wondering where your returned Amazon items end up? They may be just down the road at Where Ya Bin.
Buying the news: I love a good thrifting bargain, and many of you do too, so I visited the fairly new reseller store near Dublin.
How it works: New items arrive every Friday, all priced at $14. Prices drop daily and reach just 25 cents on Thursday.
- Many things are still in boxes, which employees will open for you until Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday evenings and Thursdays, you won't know what's inside an unmarked box until you buy it.
Zoom in: The trendy chain's pricing structure means you must decide if merchandise is worth that day's cost.
- Come back on a cheaper day, and you risk another shopper scooping it up.
- Or you might lose it in a sea of clutter as the bins steadily become less organized.
For example: I passed on this blue fish-shaped vase that caught my aquarist eye on a $14 Friday, assuming it would still be there on a $1 Wednesday.
- Turns out it was worth almost $50. By Wednesday, it was long gone. Oof.
😠Pro tip: Check retail prices on Amazon before purchasing or passing.
The bottom line: Unfortunately, Where Ya Bin requires more time and strategy than I'm willing to dedicate to my thrifting expeditions, but maybe you'll feel differently.
- I prefer the daily disorganized chaos of the Goodwill Outlet bins, priced per pound.
- Where Ya Bin also has strict rules and the customer service wasn't great, as Google reviews note.
