Massachusetts RNC delegation is pumped to see Trump-Vance ticket

State of play: Delegates expressed excitement to be introduced to vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, who Trump announced as his running mate Monday afternoon.

The delegates who spoke with Axios said the convention will be historic, coming so soon after the shooting.

The latest: Trump thrilled the crowd at the convention last night with a brief appearance in the VIP section and later alongside Vance.

Massachusetts Republican Party Chair Amy Carnevale has been in Milwaukee since last week for meetings and said the mood shifted from shock to solemnity Saturday as events unfolded in Pennsylvania.

• The atmosphere improved greatly, according to Carnevale, after delegates and officials heard from Trump himself Sunday.
