• All good things must end, however. Anthony Cabrera, who told the AJC he spends 500 hours a year planning and building the Halloween haunts, says this will be the final year.

Catch up quick: The family eventually began using donations to buy Christmas presents for patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

• In 2025, the Cabreras collected almost $35,000 — enough to buy 2,405 gifts, according to the family.

What they're saying: "Halloween has always been my favorite holiday because I never had much growing up, including Christmas presents, and Halloween was the great equalizer," Cabrera, a corporate attorney, said.
