Foodies and vino snobs will have four days to satisfy their cravings at the 2026 Atlanta Food and Wine Festival this weekend at The Home Depot Backyard.
Why it matters: Food. Wine. Samples. Cooking demonstrations. What else is there to say?
The latest: Expect a "culinary extravaganza spotlighting incomparable food, wine, beer, and craft spirits of the South and beyond," the festival says.
Catch up quick: 2026 is the second year the Food & Wine Festival has called The Home Depot Backyard home. Before, the festivities were held at Historic Fourth Ward Park.
- The Backyard allows for more space between tasting tents and better on-stage culinary demonstrations, festival organizers said last year.
Zoom in: Along with tasting tents offering sample bites and drinks from more than 200 chefs, mixologists and sommeliers, the festival will also feature talks and discussions about Atlanta's restaurant scene.
- The event opens Thursday with AJC senior food and dining editor Monti Carlo hosting "The Atlanta Standard," which "celebrates the people, flavors, and creativity that make Atlanta unlike anywhere else," the festival said in a press release.
- On Friday, "Bizarre Foods" host Andrew Zimmern will host "Flavors of Atlanta," where he'll talk about the Latin spices, Asian food and Caribbean influences that have become part of the city's dining fabric.
- For Saturday afternoon, caterer and chef Shawn Osbey will host "The Southern Spread," which celebrates the region's famous recipes and the people who keep those traditions going.
- Later that evening, chef Ford Fry will host "Stacked: The Burger Social," where chefs will present their best — and most unique — burgers.
- Not to be outdone, Kelli Potter, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member and owner of Nana's Chicken & Waffles, will showcase her talents during "Southern Fried: A Fried Chicken Affair."
The fine print: The host chefs will have tasting stations at their events. A cooking demonstration will be held at the Publix Culinary Demonstration Stage by hosts stationed at tasting tents.
