André 3000 joins Scooby-Doo series filming in Atlanta

André 3000 of Outkast is joining the cast of a new streaming series all about those meddling kids and their dog.

Driving the news: Netflix announced that André, whose real name is André Benjamin, has accepted a recurring role in "Scooby-Doo: Origins," a live-action streaming series.

Zoom in: The streamer released no additional details about the rapper, flautist and actor's role.

According to Netflix, the origin story is about younger versions of Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Fred and their adventure with a Great Dane puppy who might have witnessed a "supernatural murder."

State of play: Filming is currently under way here in Atlanta. The series is scheduled for a 2027 release.

Fun fact: The last time André crossed paths with Scooby-Doo was when Outkast contributed the song "Land of a Million Drums," featuring Killer Mike and Sleepy Brown, to the franchise's 2002 film.
