Whew, I opened a can of worms when I asked for your hot takes on this year's Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race T-shirt.
- And y'all didn't hold back.
The latest: Most of the responses were critical, panning the yellow color, the way Georgia was abbreviated and how the flag was displayed.
- Some of you thought the color was different (in a good way) and were unbothered by the design.
The Atlanta Track Club, which organizes the Fourth of July tradition, declined to comment.
A few of your thoughts:
"The color is awful. Should have been red, white and blue. The design is great but color [is] not. Who abbreviates G.A. like that?" — Carolyn S.
"Satisfies those feeling less than patriotic (yellow) while also acknowledging 250 years. And love the abbreviated course/map." — Katherine M.
"The color is crazy to me. I normally see people wearing their Peachtree shirts everywhere and haven't seen anyone wearing it." — Lauren J.
"While it's an honor that our city gets to host World Cup games, the T-shirt looks a bit like a soccer jersey." — Michael R.
"I enjoy how lightweight the shirt feels on me. I do agree with the gripe that Georgia is abbreviated G.A. and wonder how that made it through the design process with nobody saying anything." — W. Thomas
"All our family of participants were very, very disappointed, as our comments were all the same...it was not a Banana extravaganza." — Batman
"I was so disappointed when I saw it...I own nothing in my closet that even comes close to yellow but, I will wear it to run in. It's very comfortable for that." — Linda W.
"I like the shirt. It's bold color and the design of the city, and it's a commemorative token of an event and an impressive achievement for those who participated." — Lynne T.
