FEMA official claims teleportation to Georgia Waffle House

"I've seen it all. But I've never seen that."

- Shastoni Burge, a server at a Waffle House in Rome, speaking to the New York Times about whether anyone has ever teleported to the 24-7 restaurant where anything can happen.

The location is in the news after CNN reported that Gregg Phillips, one of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's top officials, claimed on a January 2025 podcast that he teleported there.

• A FEMA spokesperson told CNN that Phillips' comments were taken out of context and “represent personal, informal, jovial, and somewhat spiritual discussions made in the context of barely surviving cancer."
