More people are teleworking full time in metro Atlanta

The latest: The ARC's Regional Commuter Survey, which was conducted last year, collected responses from more than 6,000 employed people across the 20-county region.

• 20% of respondents said they telework full time, up from 6% in 2019, the last time the ARC did the survey.
• Nearly 60% of respondents said they telework "at least occasionally," compared to 43% in 2019.
• Close to 75% of households that earned more than $200,00 a year teleworked occasionally. About half of lower-income households reported teleworking.

Zoom in: The ARC's survey also found that teleworking is more common on Fridays and Mondays, with people using the middle of the week to commute to the office.

Yes, but: Teleworking isn't available to everyone. 80% of people who work in an office say they have the option to telework, compared to 32% of people who work in education and 42% of health care employees.

The intrigue: Fewer people are carpooling or using the bus, and the share of people driving to work or driving alone increased from 80% to 82%.
