When and how to thaw your Thanksgiving turkey

Thanksgiving is next week, so it's time to start fine-tuning your menu.
If you are thawing a frozen turkey this Thanksgiving, there are two common methods: the refrigerator or cold water.
- For refrigerator thawing, plan for one day of thawing for every 4 pounds of turkey (not including Thanksgiving Day).
- For the cold water method, plan for 30 minutes per pound.
