👋 Thomas here.
I come before you to sing the praises of Brainwave Pizza in Decatur and their super-thin crust pizzas cut into squares.
Why it matters: Tavern-style pizzas are underrepresented in metro Atlanta's pizza scene — and they also happen to be superior to all other pizza styles.
They're basically marinara and cheese served on a Ritz cracker. Incredible.
I normally don't feel the urgency to try a restaurant, but when I hear about tavern-style pizza you have my attention.
Driving the news: Available only Tuesday through Thursday inside Inner Voice Brewing, the bar pies deliver a cracker-like sourdough crunch topped with the appropriate portions of sauce and cheese (or pepperoni or sausage).
📢 Call to action: Who else deserves a look? I've heard Bobby G.'s in North Fulton is good.
Pro tip: Double-check Brainwave's website for availability.
If they're sold out, you can't go wrong with the pizzeria's regular menu of square and New York-style sourdough pies.
