Now, a city of Atlanta pilot program will gauge whether banning left-hand turns on Krog Street could make the busy intersection a little less annoying.
Why it matters: Drivers waiting to turn left from Krog on to DeKalb Avenue toward Downtown cause traffic to back up, clogging the famous graffiti tunnel and creating crippling congestion in Cabbagetown.
Context: The intersection is a major crossing for Atlanta Beltline users and one of the few ways to access Cabbagetown from the north.
It's also a pain point for motorists making the east-west trek between Atlanta's eastside and Downtown.
The big picture: If you were planning to head toward Downtown, travel through the intersection and hang a left on Edgewood Avenue instead.
