Where to watch Atlanta's Pride parade

The Southeast's largest free Pride festival returns this weekend with music, a maker's market, marches and, on Sunday, one of the city's must-see parades.

Here's where you can get the best angle on the miles-long showcase of Atlanta's LGBTQ communities.

The rainbows: 10th Street and Piedmont Drive is the epicenter of Midtown's LGBTQ communities and the rainbow crosswalks can turn a photo of the Atlanta Eagle float from good to iconic.

For cocktails and people watching, Blake's on the Park and other LGBTQ spots are just a few doors down.

The pit stop: In 1991, Saint Mark United Methodist Church on Peachtree Street near Fifth Street broke from other nearby churches and welcomed paradegoers with water and refreshments.

The act of kindness won the church new parishioners and forged a bond with LGBTQ communities that continues today. It's also a great parade viewing spot.

Piedmont Park: The edge of Atlanta's most famous green space is slightly elevated, giving a clearer vantage point of the tail end of the festivities.

State of play: The parade kicks at noon sharp off from the intersection of Peachtree and Pine streets (near Emory Midtown) and heads north. View the full route
