Brewhouse Café expands to South Downtown ahead of World Cup

The Little Five Points bar that won the hearts of soccer fans across the country is opening a location in one of Atlanta's FIFA World Cup hotspots.

The latest: Work is underway on a South Downtown outpost of Brewhouse Café, SoDo Atlanta, the development group trying to revitalize the historic neighborhood with start-up spaces and restaurants, said yesterday.

The vibes: SoDo says to expect "the warmth and character of a timeless European pub, while staying true to the energy and spirit fans have always loved."

What they're saying: "Little Five Points gave us our roots, and now South Downtown gives us the perfect stage for the future," Humberto Bermudez, owner of Brewhouse Café, said in a statement.

"There's nothing like the energy of soccer fans under one roof, and we can't wait to bring that magic downtown just as Atlanta takes the global spotlight for the World Cup."

Zoom out: The restaurant will join existing spots Spiller Park, Crates and other new businesses and is not far from a planned El Tesoro location.

What's next: The new location is scheduled to welcome local and international visitors in time for Atlanta's eight matches.
