Atlanta's creative community shines at the Art Fair and Goat Farm's SITE

State of play: Starting tonight and running through Sunday, the Atlanta Art Fair returns to Pullman Yards to bring together artists and gallery owners with collectors and enthusiasts.

• Featured works at the hybrid art festival-collectors event include a projection by Micah and Whitney Stansell and a guest-curated, female-centered exhibition of Atlanta artists Krista Clark and Sonya Yong James and Nashville's Vadis Turner.

Also on the schedule: The awarding of the inaugural Balentine Prize to an exceptional emerging artist in Atlanta or the South and panel discussions about collecting 101, art and technology, motherhood and art, and the state of Atlanta's film production industry.

Zoom in: On Saturday on the Westside, the Goat Farm's 12 acres become the canvas and stage for SITE, the mixed-use community's annual arts, music and dance party.

• Mikkoh, Zl!ster and Mikeflo are among the 12 artists who will perform and present throughout the former cotton gin factory and commons.
• Works woven into the community include Ryan Clark and the Georgia Tech Textiles Team's interactive "Lux Animata" and Atlanta artist Claire Molla's literally deep "Grave."

Artists with studio space at the Goat Farm, which added apartments to its campus several years ago, will open their doors as well.

What we're watching: Atlanta artist Erik Thurmond's side project Pasquale, a combo of dance, electronic music and performance art, at SITE.

In the weeds: The High will also have a pop-up preview of its upcoming exhibition of Dutch fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren's work at the Atlanta Art Fair.
