Findley Plaza, the town center of Little Five Points where you can hear a sermon, buy a necklace or simply hang around, is getting its long-awaited redo.
Driving the news: Construction fences are up and crews have started work on the $830,000 renovation.
Zoom in: Expect a wider and more open Findley Plaza. Tree wells will be moved to the outer edges, creating more room and shade for public events and acting as a buffer from Moreland Avenue.
Plus, more benches, bike racks and access to electricity for festivals and other events.
What's next: Lauren Welsh, the Little Five Points Alliance executive director, told Axios the hardscape should be ready by mid-October to avoid interfering with the popular Halloween Parade and Festival.
Trees, landscaping and other touches could be complete by mid-November, Welsh said.
